What We Offer

Support Groups

DBSA has Peer led support groups. That means that everyone, including the facilitator can empathize with what you are going through, because they have a condition themselves. Attendees have the ability to gain support, wisdom, strength and hope from fellow members by sharing lived experiences with eachother.

Support groups also serve as a source of information and support for family members who are concerned about a loved one.

Additionally, there are groups for consumers with specific needs, including transitional age group patients (18 - 30 years of age), consumers who have been dual-diagnosed (mental illness diagnosis combined with substance abuse) and as well as Spanish and Vietnamese language groups.

Meetings may differ based on the facilitators' meeting style and the regular group membership. We encourage prospective members to visit multiple support groups, initially, in order to find the ones that work best according to their needs and expectations.

Newsletter

The Rollercoaster Times was created to provide information and updates to the mental health community. Sometimes informational, sometimes funny (yes, we have cartoons), we work to provide resources about mental health and recovery to the community.

DBSA OC Resource Center

The DBSA Resource Center is a place where volunteers answer calls, respond to emails and receive visitors. There are also a variety of resources available. If you are new to a diagnosis, visit us and get information about your condition and talk with someone that understands.
